Nope, I am not completely insane (well, maybe a bit). I just feel overwhelmed by a strange feeling called egocentrism which makes me develop a concept equally self-centered and pointless… And "weblogging" was looking to be the most appropriate way to do so... I indeed decided to develop and revendicate a concept directly related to myself… Which became even bigger since I am leaving in the UK (for now about 2 years) hidden somewhere in my little empty skull (so yes, there are some things up there): the aurélism (Etymologically from the French Aurélisme, so please, keep the accent) or aurélisationism if you fancy sounding a bit more intellectual…
The neologism (take a look up for definition) is a really common activity in my family for quite awhile now, especially targetting the feminin part of the Desmas' members. So I have been practicing it without even noticing it since I am a child... Since my mum considers it like a big issue, I decided to take it as an advantge in my personal life (it might explain that I moved in a foreign country so I am allowed to create words on a daily basis without sounding awkward... Whatever I can say, I will sound awkward all my life so...)… And to be honest, I am really proud of such an activity cause it is so far, the best activity even designed to actually make evoluate a language (the latin language missed the train for instance and all regional dialects etc) and to express a form of creativity wherever I am... So yes, in French or English, I make up words... So what? It is true that being a linguist, people are very often expecting me to be a reference in term of linguistic matters... But I tell you what... I can't give a goddam F... The natural credibility I can benefit from that job makes my days easier when I have to play Scrabble wether in French or in English (yes, I have to confess, I cheat most of the time).
On the top of that, the English language accepts naturally all sort of grammatical and spelling absurdities which makes that I can realistically hope that one day, one of my home-made-up word will be in the Collins or Oxford dictionnary. Cause in spite of the fact that English is much more accurate than French (it is really funny that in English, you can have words such as: touching somebody with one finger to grab his attention =>to poke, isn't it to be accurate?), I am sure I can make it even more... Accurate! (Please bear in mind that all the posts you will find here - or most of them - are direct translations from my French weblog which can explain that a lot of expressions, figures of speech etc can sound weird in English, but the purpose of this weblog being neologism, I can't be asked looking for English equivalents) <><><
